Kiet Tran, the co-founder and Managing Director of GoodLand, has an extensive experience in software engineering, IT project design & development, training and research & development for over 14 years. He has held a number of senior software development positions leading a variety of IT projects at several foreign-owned software development companies, and he has been responsible for the design, management and development of the software development business "start-up". He served as Technical Director/Project Manager of PolyTech R&D Inc. and DAT Inc., which specialize in software outsourcing services for the American market for the period of 1995-2000. He was also a co-founder and Project Development Director of VietSun Software Development Co. with its key partner/client Hitachi Zosen System (Japan). Some of his prime clients are Oklahoma Cardiovascular Association, Mid-con Data Services, Inc., American Express, MathEdusoft, Inc., ETC Inc. (USA), etc.
With a keen vision for emerging technology opportunities has set up GoodLand Informatics Co, Ltd. utilizing well trained and hard-working Vietnamese work force, and assembling a team of senior collaborators and consultants.
His solid background and special passion & interests in multi-dimensional database management, online analytical processing technology (OLAP), XML technologies, integrated information systems, data driven decision support systems and various e-business applications have resulted in the development of diversified software products for commercial and industrial applications. He is also a solid leader who is capable of building and training new software teams, managing complex IT projects and implementing new processes while maintaining a positive working environment.
Kiet has lectured in information system analysis & design, software project development, object-oriented design & programming, at several universities in HCMC. He has a Master of Information Technology, a Bachelor of Mathematics and a Bachelor of Business Administration.
As co-founder & Business Development Director of GoodLand, Tuan Tran is an experienced marketing specialist with a solid background and practical industry-specific experience in the market research, marketing and business development fields. He held a number of senior business development positions at several foreign-owned consultancy service companies such as Peregrine Capital Vietnam, Grant Thornton and Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) in areas of trade & investment promotion for over 12 years. He draws on his strong background and experience in consulting to provide strategic advice in trade promotion and facilitation, market research, business plan, market entry and market expansion strategies to many foreign companies wishing to market and distribute their products in a broad industrial sectors including ICT sector in Vietnam.
His professional skills are also enhanced substantially by his advanced knowledge and expertise in corporate software applications, knowledge management and e-commerce solutions that he served as an Information Manager for his previous employers for several years. He has also been working with Saigon Marketing Weekly Magazine (Saigon Tiep Thi) and its High Quality Vietnamese Goods Program (Vietgoods) as a market consultant for over 8 years. He has a Master of Business Management and a Bachelor of Science.
Dr Steven Tuan Lam, a business partner/senior technical advisor of Goodland, has held a number of senior consulting and research and development (R&D) positions at leading companies in areas of semiconductor, communications and BioInformatics in America. He has extensive knowledge and experience in software engineering, system integration, database design, data transform, bioinformatics, IT project design & development and R&D for over 13 years.
He is an Information Resources Manager/Software Engineer of UT Southwestern Medical Center At Dallas (USA), responsible for the R&D of software systems that automated the analysis of human DNA sequences & gene discovery, gene prediction and identification algorithms; research of new practical computational algorithms that predict the gene 3-dimensional structure; investigate the feasible applications of computer technologies such as neural network and expert systems to solving problems in BioInformatics. Steven was a Consultant/Technical Lead of Texas Instruments (Anderson Consulting), in charge of the database design, data transform, system integration, testing, user interface design and deployment of the Activity Based Costing Pilot Project. At DSC Communications (USA), he was responsible for the prototyping, system requirements and development of the Home Location Register (HLR) software system and distributed database management system supporting the cellular phone location registry for the HLR project. In 1994-1997, he was a Software Engineer of Texas Instrument (USA), undertaking the research, specification, technical architecture and development of the Cost Management System (CMS) and Price Estimation System (PRISM). He was also a founder of MathEdusoft Inc. (USA).
He has a Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Mathematics, 1993 and Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics & Computer Science.
As a business partner of GoodLand, Binh Nam Tran, a diploma engineer, has worked extensively in a variety of senior management positions throughout Europe, Asia/Pacific and South America. His consultancy services are highly regarded by many of today's top international companies.
He has more than 25 years of experience in information and communications technologies, software engineering and project management.
As a head of project management he took responsibility for the European ESPRIT project, a landmark project to define common standards for IT throughout the European Community.
After graduating from Technical University, Berlin, Germany with MSEE, Nam worked for a variety of companies, including Carl Zeiss, Alcatel and Siemens AG.
He is married with 4 children and now divides his time between Europe & Asia.
Ngan Doan has solid knowledge & experience in IT system integration & administration, software engineering, IT project design & development and IT training for over 15 years. He was a Technical Director of Vanoco Pty Ltd. (Australia) in 1993-1996, undertaking two of the first key IT projects for the State Bank of Vietnam and the Vietnamese Agricultural Bank in Vietnam.
Ngan has extensively experienced in Unix network system (Linux, SCO Unix), RDBMS on Unix environment (Sybase, Postgressql, Mysql), communication system on Unix-based system (Local Area Network and Wide Area Network and in software development on Unix environment (Shell, C, Tcl+Tk, CGI, Java) & on MS DOS environment, software applications for communication system. He has lectured in mathematics & Unix system at several universities in Ho Chi Minh City for nearly 20 years. He has a Master of Information Technology and a Bachelor of Mathematics.
Hoang Trong (and his own business - Hoang Khoa Research & Consulting Co.) is a business advisor of GoodLand in business consulting and marketing research areas. He has been extensively experienced in providing strategic advice in trade promotion, market research, consumer research, business statistics analysis and market entry strategies to both local and foreign-owned companies in a broad industrial sector.
He held a number of senior research positions at several marketing research companies. He formed his own business Hoang Khoa Research and Consulting Co. in 2001 with some key clients such as P&G Vietnam, P&G Singapore, Dutch Lady Vietnam, Akzo Nobel Coatings and Saigon Marketing Weekly Magazine (Saigon Tiep Thi).
Trong lectures in business statistics, data analysis, marketing research & consumer behaviour at several universities in HCMC. He has been a marketing consultant for Saigon Marketing Weekly Magazine (Saigon Tiep Thi) and its High Quality Vietnamese Goods Program (Vietgoods) for over 5 years. He has a Master of Business Management and a Ph.D. Candidate, School of Management, AIT, Thailand.
